Juanita from Cheeky Monkey Club has been coming to Avenues Cannon Hill for the past 5 years. During this time, she has not only engaged and informed the children of many learning opportunities, but also many educators as well.
Juanita’s enthusiasm for her programs is infectious, and the large variety of resources she brings along allow all children to participate fully. In each lesson, there are many of different learning activities, from singing and creative dancing, problem solving, working together with others as well as learning new language around many topics such as indigenous learning, seasons, adventures around the world and more.
We cant forget about Cheeky Monkey himself, the best and funniest monkey of all time. He invites children into his imaginative world, ready to join in his adventures.
I can truly say that over the past 5 years, each visit from The Cheeky Monkey Club has been full of energy, enthusiasm and great ideas to introduce the children to many new learnings. The children’s faces bright up knowing Cheeky Monkey will be joining us and as an educator with many years of experience, each lesson I am involved with is professional development in itself.

The Cheeky Monkey Club songs from the “Have Some Fun” CD are an absolute favourite with the young dancers (2-5yrs) that I teach. I have easily incorporated the songs into my dance syllabus as the themes are so wonderful and the songs are so catchy.
Just the other day in class I said to the students we were going to do “Mysteries Under the Sea” and several of the students called out “I love that one!”

In the past 4 years I have been at Redlynch Day care Centre and the children have enjoyed the fun and excitement that Cheeky Monkey Club has to offer. The children have been introduced to a range of activities and experiences that are developmentally appropriate and anticipate the visit each month. As an early childhood professional, I look for programs that are educational, interactive, and enjoyable. Cheeky Monkey Club definitely provides all that and more. Juanita has been incredible at gaining the children’s attention and focus and is wonderful in the work she does. She is entertaining both in their approach and her delivery of the programs. There is always a new and exciting challenge that lies ahead for the children to discover with Cheeky Monkey. I believe the children benefit most from the interactive activities and they love joining in. I would recommend this program to anyone and I hope you get as much enjoyment out of it as the children at our centre do.

Cheeky Monkey Club conducts classes one day per week; Mondays, and we all look forward to Miss Juanita and her happy personality, the children just love her! Parents now enrol their children on the day that Cheeky Monkey Club is being offered; they also believe it is a very beneficial program and would like their children to be part of it. Cheeky Monkey Club is fun, interactive, educational and enjoyable for every child. I think this program is special because children benefit from the interactive activities and they love being involved. It incorporates so many aspects of the curriculum such as language, literacy, numeracy, science, problem solving, feelings, multiculturalism, the environment and more.
